Lora Hunter Peel R. SLP (C)

Originally from Saskatchewan, Lora holds an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree with double majors in Speech Language Pathology and Psychology from Minot State University, as well as a Masters degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Washington State University. She has additional training and development in such areas as traumatic brain injury and stroke, neuromuscular disorders, and voice further enhancing her expertise in the field.

With over 25 years of experience in Edmonton and surrounding area, Lora is well versed as to the services offered in this community. She has an evidence-based approach in the management of communication and swallowing disorders. More specifically, Lora has assisted a number of clientele in the treatment of dysarthria, apraxia, voice, fluency, cognitive communication, language, accent reduction, and articulation.

Lora holds certifications in Modified Barium Swallow (MBSimP) administration and analysis, oromyofunctional therapy (OMT) and English as a Second Language (P-ESL). She also has previous certification and training in Hanen programming and the LSVT approach for individuals with Parkinsons disease.

Lora has worked in hospital and clinical settings, in the community, as well as educational settings. She is dedicated to her clients and to ensuring that treatment is personalized, functional, and meaningful. Lora is fluent in English and currently provides virtual Speech Therapy services in the provinces of Alberta and Ontario. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and golfing with her husband and adult son.
